Client
If I could give zero stars, I would. Hiring Anthony Phillips has been one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. He took $1,500 from me, only to abandon my case the moment it required even the slightest amount of effort. My contract was for a flat fee, yet he had the nerve to demand more money later (a classic bait-and-switch move.) This man has been through six paralegals in the past year and a half alone, which should have been my first red flag. It's no mystery why no one sticks around: he's arrogant, dismissive, and treats the people actually doing the work like dirt. In fact, the only person who provided me with genuine support was his paralegal. She worked tirelessly on my case while Phillips himself did absolutely nothing. I only ever spoke to him twice: once during the initial consultation when he took my money, and once more when he dropped my case. That's it. He didn't draft, argue, negotiate, or strategize. Nothing. Minimal work for maximum payment. And now, conveniently, he's "retiring." More like running away from the countless clients he's burned while pocketing their retainers. It's not surprising when you learn his old firm, Taylor and Phillips, dissolved because his partner was caught taking retainers and never doing the work. Birds of a feather. Phillips loves to brag about his "20 years of experience," but leaves out some very important details: namely, that he was suspended in June of 2010 for unethical behavior and substance abuse. He was only reinstated a few years ago in January of 2021. That's is 11 years without practicing. That should tell you everything you need to know. Anthony Phillips is not an advocate, not a professional, and certainly not someone you want to trust with your case or your money. Save yourself the heartbreak and financial loss, do your research, and find an attorney who will actually fight for you. Phillips will only fight to pad his pockets.
