Bill Cownie is the best attorney around. After helping us with a family member's legal troubles, traffic violations, a nasty divorce for my girlfriend, landlord troubles and helping us win a lawsuit after a dog attack on the job, we really got to know Bill and his team. He has always been there for us with legal advice and had never failed to deliver whenever we needed him. Doug and Amy are great, and ready to help whenever and however they can. They are always ready to answer your questions and always make time for you. Bill is fantastic and he really knows the law. He doesn't just guess and hope he's right, he will find the right answer and tell you straight every time. His rates are very reasonable, too, especially considering the level of detail that he puts into each case. He keeps you informed, up to date and prepared for your day in court. The whole office is very professional, but really care about your needs. First set down with me and set a game plan. They took every change to the plan in stride. *****Very reasonable when it came to rates***** They did the research necessary when needed. I am very happy with the results in my family court case. I will always come to them with all of my law needs. Wanted to make an update. They have been keeping up with their end of the payment plan very well. Even willing to work with me if things aren't going my way. When something else arose, they were willing to work with me to help get it resolved. They have always communicate with me very well.

If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. They kept adding new charges for a simple child support case. It was a cut and dry case they were paid 5000. My daughter had to fire them before the court date because they kept filing unnecessary papers and she could never get passed the person answering the phone (and yes I was next to her on several attempts). The person answering the phone is Doug Miles, Doug Miles his the rudest most unprofessional person I have ever met. He said the case would be lost if my daughter fired the lawyer but still refused to let me talk to the lawyer. Doug Miles was verbally abusive and intimidated my daughter to the point that I insisted she fire them. He called her names(and yes she was on speaker for the calls I witnessed) and this was the firm that was representing her. After firing the firm my daughter represented her self and received everything that she wanted.(as I said it was a simple case). Now they served paper and sewed both me and my daughter for 5700. Again my daughter called the office and couldn't get past the rudeness of Dough Miles. Never, Ever would I recommend this firm.

I have dealt with a lot of attorneys over time and Mr. Cownie is by far, the best. He laid out all my options in terms I could understand and helped me decide on the best course of action for my situation. He kept me in the loop throughout the whole process by giving me regular updates, even if no action was needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any legal work you may need.

They took my money and said we had a good case. Then proceeded to tell me I made too much money for bankruptcy and now I am out another 1,850 dollars. Ms. Sayers: This will respond to your e-mail of 7/16. Math is brutal. Math does not change even if you get very emotional. As I have stated in writing previously the bottom line is that you have a math problem. Specifically, your math problem is that your income is slightly over the means test. It is also worth noting that the "means test" is part of the Bankruptcy Law. This is not my rule. We developed a strategy for you to comply with the means test, but almost immediately, you contacted me and said that your very next paycheck will be higher than planned. Per your e-mail we will stop working on your case. To account for the funds that you have paid to date, we will prepare an itemized bill showing the services and time spent on your case and submit that itemized bill.
