Client
When I initially contacted the office to relay a message concerning my associate's case, I was met with a rudeness that I found unacceptable. Instead of offering clarity, Wilbert L. Johnson repeatedly interrupted me, not allowing me the opportunity to speak or explain the nature of my concerns. This made it difficult, if not impossible, for me to communicate effectively and for Wilbert L. Johnson to actively listen to the message I was relaying for his client. Despite my polite attempts to engage, Wilbert L. Johnson dominated the conversation and refused to provide the name or contact information of a supervisor when I requested it. This refusal hindered my ability to escalate the issue within the office and left me feeling powerless and frustrated. Additionally, during the conversation, Wilbert L. Johnson explicitly threatened that if I were to contact the Bar Association or raise concerns about his conduct, he would retaliate by not representing my associate to the best of his ability. Such a threat is not only inappropriate but also deeply troubling given the vital role a public defender plays in advocating for their clients. This lack of professionalism and the suggestion of retaliation is highly concerning, as it raises serious questions about the integrity of the legal representation my associate is receiving. It is very important that public defenders act in the best interest of their clients and that any concerns about their conduct be taken seriously and addressed promptly.
