I wish I could give them a 0. My experience with Collis, Griffor & Hendra has been extremely troubling. On 09/24/2025, despite paying $3,467.29 in full with a cashier's check, they refused to cash my check and instead attempted to garnish me for over $8,000 -- far more than what I actually owed. As of today, they are still holding onto my cashier's check and refusing to process it. This behavior has caused me significant financial stress and hardship. I believe no client should ever be subjected to these kinds of practices. Because of this, I am now seeking legal counsel and will also be contacting the Michigan Attorney General's Office, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and State Representative Regina Weiss, District 5 to report this matter and pursue accountability. I am sharing my experience so others are fully aware of how this office operates. Document everything, protect yourself, and proceed with extreme caution before working with this firm. They are non responsive, and just overall frauds. This company should be ashamed of the way they treat people. Be warned, record everything, and never believe they are going to give you a settlement as they will file a motion for installments and say you didn't make payments. Beware of this company. Oh and finally have me a settlement and retracted it once my full payment was sent in the mail. They are the worse company I have ever experienced in my life.

Stuart and Randi were calm, competent, and answered all of my questions. They also seem to be very familiar with the divorce process in Washtenaw County. They communicated well with the opposing counsel and got the job done. Also, the office is very easy to get to.

Is zero stars an option? I was referred to this office by CLC (a benefit from my employer) and told that Stuart was the one at this law office to handle tenant concerns. I kid you not, I was on the phone for less than 2 minutes with him (I have it timed) and in that he managed to be extremely rude and dismissive, would not offer any advice or referral to anyone who could help with my case. I understand that there may have been some miscommunication from the company that I was referred from (according to Mr. Collis, he should be categorized as only serving landlords, not tenants), but that does not give anyone the right to be so rude, dismissive, and absolutely heartless while potential clients in their worst moments reach out for help. And by the looks of the reviews here, this is a common theme. Egotistical, rude, and only willing to do so much to ensure he gets paid. Maybe a good fit for rich landlords trying to screw people out of their money. But definitely not one to help those who are actually in need. Thankfully there are still good people out there. If you are a tenant in need of a lawyer who actually cares, I highly recommend reaching out to Rose Dasaro. She's based out of Livonia and in 10 minutes was able to do what Mr. Collis decided in less than 2 that he was just too good for. I can almost guarantee someone from his law office is going to respond to this and try gaslight me into thinking that I'm in the wrong here. Dozens of reviews from similarly wronged potential clients would suggest otherwise. I hope this review and others are seen by enough people, to warn them of what a horrible experience they can expect and to stay away.
