Some attorneys here do a decent job, but a majority of them are just OK at best. I never judge a firm by when everything is smooth, but rather by how they handle things when challenges arise. When my earnest money deposit was being held up--despite attorney Andrew Horchberg successfully cancelling the contract in time--he repeatedly pushed me to settle with the seller and was far too quick to give up on recovering my money. I also found it unusual that he insisted I pay for title insurance prior to closing, when in all my past transactions this has always been handled at closing. Andrew then required a $5k retainer and billed at nearly $400/hour to pursue my deposit. After I retired him from the matter, I personally sent a single email to the seller and was able to recover my full deposit--something he made sound far more complicated. Throughout the process, when I attempted to get the deal back on track or reconcile frustrations, I was met with blunt and dismissive responses. At one point, he even tried billed me for discussing a settlement I never intended to pursue, and again for conversations where I was simply trying to smooth things over after expressing my disappointment in how the transaction was handled. Very disappointed and I'll be looking for counsel at another firm .

Where can I start with this review....My family and I are extremely grateful for Attorney Hochberg for his professionalism, confidence and commitment to help us with our case. If I can give another set of 5 stars I would. Can't thank you enough for the great work you've done.
