I was fortunate enough to have met Steve at a time when I was feeling completely defeated due to the inabilities of a law firm I had hired prior to Doucette & French for an insurance litigation. Steve's affective presence is rare and refreshing. He always kept me in the loop and never stopped fighting for what we both knew and proved was morally right and fair. I had a last minute emergency POA issue. Steve was just wonderful to work with. He saw me right away and was kind, patient, and professional. He took care of everything thoroughly and quickly and not only didn't charge me an arm and a leg but actually asked for less at the end of it then what he originally quoted me. And then had me in for a quick notary a week later with no charge! He seems to genuinely care about his employees too. When you have to navigate the world of caring for your elders and their legal situations, he's the kind of guy you want to have for your family for the long haul. I'll never go anywhere else! Divorce is difficult to say the least. When I first started the divorce process, I talked to several lawyers. But I wasn't looking for someone aggressive or unresponsive. At the first interview with Steve, I knew he was the right attorney for me. He was calming, almost like a dad, he made me feel validated and provided reassurance. I wasn't unreasonable in what I wanted out of the divorce. It was a long tiresome process. But Steve knew what I deserved and the best way to obtain a fair judgement. Steve and Matt were there for me when I need them every time, and sometimes it was last minute. They allowed me to save on their hourly billing by allowing me to prepare some of the required documents myself. They understood that I am a single mom supporting three children. On the many days that we had to attend court, I would meet him at his office, and he would drive me to the courthouse. He even drove my mom the first time.
