Not impressed at all. Mr. Michael Hooker had a bit of an attitude when we first met him, and was not helpful at all. He kept telling us that it's a good thing that my father-in-law signed his Will or he would have made sure the "nieces" received everything because they were "blood." Never mind the fact that my mother-in-law was the owner of the house as well, but his attitude toward step-children was not favorable. A little condescending at times, and acted like he was doing us a favor. There were also a few things missing from the house when we got there; which amazingly showed up after asking where the things were....like they didn't know we knew. A little suspicious, if you ask me. He even gave my daughter the third degree about staying at the house while we were there. Never mind that there were pictures of her everywhere, but never saw any nieces in 30 years of marriage; until my father-in-law passed away. The Estate took over 2 years to settle with only one house that sold 5 months after my father-in-law passed, a couple of accounts, and maybe an IRA. Plus he held back a retainer for another year; in case anything popped up for additional fees. I worked in legal for over 20 years and could have handled this myself. Estelle was the only person in that office who was of actual assistance, and appreciated everything she did for our family.
