Client Testimonials

Client

We also had a terrible experience and lost money - I filed a complaint with the BBB. Then I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. Yesterday I received notice she has been disbarred. There's no 'enforcement' for getting a refund with either the BBB or the AG, but at least this person cannot practice law. I'm not sure if my filing with reams of evidence to the AG contributed to the disbarring, but I regret not posting a review here to warn others when this first started over a year ago. Legitimate negative reviews help protect others, and I'm not going to hesitate to post a review the next time I'm dealing with criminal unprofessional behavior - it seems likely that she has stolen thousands from people over the past year while also exposing them to serious legal/tax risks. I'm investigating small claims court next.

Client

My elderly mother went to Melissa for a revision of an estate documents, will, trust, health care proxy etc in October 2023. My mother eventually received documents 6 months later only after multiple calls were made to the office. There were many excuses from Melissa throughout this process and she generally blamed her staff for all her shortcomings. As a family we have serious concerns regarding the legal services that Melissa states she provides and failed to do so. For example, a new trust was requested to which she agreed but ultimately she did not furnish. She only changed the will. She was entrusted with $3000 in fees with the expectation of receiving competent and diligent representation but she failed to fulfill these professional obligations. Her actions constituted a breach of the agreement and failure to meet professional standards expected of an attorney. A letter was sent to Melissa requesting a refund but letter was never acknowledged. My mother suffered financial losses as she had to go to another attorney to procure the proper documents. Additionally, this also caused emotional distress for my mother and family members.

I paid her for a complete estate plan. Wills, trusts, health care proxy, etc. She did a great job setting it up, then just stopped responding. I have emailed multiple times, made multiple calls, sent my questions with assurances that she would review them and respond, and have received NOTHING. I cannot recommend you trust this office with such critical and sensitive items like your future plans

Client

We're having the same experience as others. We gave her money for a trust over six months ago, and it took three appointment visits to finally get something to sign. It had mistakes, and despite multiple attempts to contact, still have nothing. And don't want anything but a refund at this point. Now come to find out after sending a certified letter that she's no longer there, and has left no forwarding address. Exploring other paths.

Client

My husband and I went to Melissa for a basic estate plan and signed documents in October 2023. A representative kept going back and forth fixing things, but eventually, it was done. Melissa mentioned one more correction but assured us we wouldn't need to sign anything and would receive our paperwork within two weeks. A year passed with no documents. Despite several calls, no one followed up until I spoke to Melissa's husband, Markus, who said the will looked fine but would check with her. I scheduled an in person appointment as a backup. Melissa called a few days later with excuses, blaming her staff for neglecting our paperwork. She also said they listed my husband's mother as mine, requiring us to sign again, and promised to leave the papers in our mailbox. Over a week later, no papers arrived. Someone from the office called me about the papers and I tried to cancel the process, but he told me to email Grace. 20 minutes later, Tom called, insisting he'd come to our house for signatures, contradicting Melissa's promise to leave the papers and the call I had before that. When I declined, he pressured me, saying he couldn't leave the documents without her approval. We paid $750 and received nothing--no apology, no refund, and most importantly, no estate plan. The lack of communication, disorganization, and neglect are unacceptable. Every promise made was broken, the plans kept changing, and no one took responsibility to go in the right direction moving forward.
