Client Testimonials

My research suggested that retaining EMDs from real estate builders is typically difficult, so I had little hope of success. I also believed I had sufficient grounds to pursue my EMD. Brian Maul was instrumental in helping me. I found him through research, and he demonstrated considerable knowledge and prompt communication. Brian was professional in all his dealings and provided a clear, inclusive consultation that explained every step. I am pleased to say that, thanks to Brian, I was able to retain my EMD. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Recommended to me by a friend for a difficult situation with a business I was working with. Once Brian stepped in I felt as if he was taking my concerns seriously, and the business started doing so as well. We were able to find a good outcome for both parties

Brian successfully handled a case for us that involved family and was emotionally challenging. His preparation was thorough for the legal aspects of the case. He also helped to prepare us personally for the challenges of a legal conflict. He successfully defended us while exceeding our expectations throughout.

I'll start by saying that if I ever had cause to hire an attorney again in the future, I would hire Brian.
I went to him with a consumer protection issue that I had tried for months to resolve with the manufacturer. When I visited Brian for a consultation, he was empathetic but professional. He clearly explained risk; the length of time such a case could take to resolve (particularly if it were to go trial); realistic expectations, etc.
Fast-forward to the company's first offer of settlement. I wasn't happy with it. Brian gave me the positives, but reminded me that the decision was mine. I did not accept the offer, and Brian continued to represent us in the hopes of a better settlement.
Long story short, we just came to a settlement. I'm happy with the settlement. It's not a case of me bitterly accepting an offer I wasn't happy about--I'm genuinely satisfied with our settlement.
Brian struck a good balance between communicating often enough to keep us in the loop, but not communicating so frequently that we were paying for meaningless emails. He was available by phone, and returned the (few) calls I made in a reasonable amount of time.
Brian tailored his communication to my comprehension level. If I understood something, he didn't drone on about it, and if I didn't understand something, he explained it clearly. If he was going to be occupied/in trial at a time when we were waiting on information, he told me ahead of time so that I didn't think he was ignoring us.
Summary: It sucks to be in a position where you need a lawyer, but if you need one, Brian's a good one to have on your side.
