No one wants to talk about the inevitable: death. When a decision was made to embrace our needs, we choose this law firm based on others personal experiences. When setting up the appointment to meet with Mathew Nale, we were advised of the information and documents needed for the appointment, which made the meeting go smoothly. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and professionally. Matthew has a very calming demeanor and an excellent knowledge of elder law. There is no estate too small or too large. He made us feel welcomed and our situation heard and validated. He helped us make the right decisions. Unfortunately a death occurred much sooner than expected and due to his expertise, everything needed for probate court was complete and went seamlessly. Our experience with John Nale was awful. After my grandmother passed, we sought his legal help to ensure my grandfather was well-cared for and that both his and my grandmother's wishes were fulfilled. Instead, we were met with unnecessary confusion, additional stress, and a complete lack of compassionate professionalism. We drove six hours round-trip for both the initial meetings, and the final meeting, where we expected to sign the necessary documents--only for John Nale to change everything we had worked on, causing anxiety for us and our grieving, vulnerable grandfather. Despite prior meetings, Nale used this final meeting to introduce baseless "hypothetical" situations and accusations that created doubt and suspicion where there was previously none. As an elder care lawyer, his behavior was especially concerning to us, and it felt like he used this third meeting as an opportunity to create confusion and tension at a painful time, therefore dragging out the process and increasing costs. To make matters worse, he didn't even call our grandfather by the correct name--a basic level of respect that was sorely lacking. Ultimately, we left with much more stress and anguish than when we arrived. If you need compassionate, competent help with estate planning and elder law, look elsewhere. John Nale only made a difficult time so much worse for our family.
