At first it was a great experience. But knowing now how he doesn't return calls and will only go so far for his clients I'd not recommend him as a public defender unless you intend on calling everyday until he is actually listening to you speak.. edit : July 4th 2025.. apparently court appointed attorneys are able to chargw without NOTICE their clients.. i havent spoken or seen him in more than 2/3 years and now there is a claim on my credit report by Mr. Berg?? Dont believe someone in his office knows what they are doing.

Unlike any lawyer I've ever had. He never granted me a meeting and never gave me a call back and I called twice a week. He had an offer from the DA for a month and never even knew it when we went to court. The only time I was able to talk to him was for 5 minutes at court. The folder that had my name on it didn't even have a paper in it when he opened it. I gave him statements from two different surgeons and he said you just hold on to those and then told me to be a man and just rub some dirt on it. I never received a motion of discovery from him even though the DA sent him one. I eventually took a horrible plea because I had no faith in my attorney. I'm not doubting his abilities just in my case he spent more time fixing his hair than he ever did working on my case. I could say more but I'm tired of typing.
