David's reviews speak for themselves. When I was charged with my OWI in Iowa I had no idea what to do. I was thinking I could navigate it on my own. Well being an out of state resident i realized that was bad idea. After being denied the opportunity to appear remotely for my first court date the DAY before court, I panicked. I started searching for Iowa attorney's. David's law firm was the first one I found. I called him and immediately I felt as ease. David explained everything i needed to know then, very informative, went over the worst case scenario, what are the potential outcomes, and what to expect. He went into great detail, and for someone such as myself who has no idea how any of this works this was comforting. From that first phone call, 2 hours later I retained him as my attorney to represent me in my OWI case. Not only did he take on my case less than 24 hours from when my first court appearance was scheduled, but he also was able to make sure I did not have to appear and take a red eye fly into Iowa. From that point on we discussed everything we needed to. Anytime I had questions about something that I did not understand David was able to answer them so I could confidently know that I understood how it would all unfold. He asked me questions, and I asked him. He had phenomenal response time. I never had to wait and extended amount of time to hear back from him. He was able to not only get my case resolved in a timely fashion, but he also was able to ensure that the outcome was fair for everyone involved. Dave has a good sense of humor, but also shows empathy and compassion for his client's and their cases. This was the first time in my life I have ever had to retain a lawyer and I can say it was one of the easiest process to go through because of Dave. I was also fearful of hiring an attorney from the start due to the worry that I would not be able to afford representation, and when I was denied a public defender, I was about cried. However I was pleasantly surprised at Dave's fee's for my case. I could not stress even more how David is the right man for the job, and working with him I can see that he knows his stuff and his years of experience show for themselves. I hope to never be in this position again, or have any future appointments in Iowa with the court systems, but should that ever happen again (God forbid) :( I would know exactly who to call. Dave, i know I already said it, but I cannot thank you enough. You are true blessing.

I just gotta start off by saying he truly is the best attorney money can buy, honestly! You get what you pay for, thats a true statement and if you want to waste your money go ahead. But if you truly want someone to get you the least possible outcome, he is (to me) the best in the state. I was facing 2X Class C Felonies. Got dropped to 1 count Class D Felony and the other Serious Misdemeanor. I was facing 5-20 years and ended up with 5 years probation. How??? That is how good he is AND i never had to go to court. He put me at ease and made sure I was OK and told me things to calm my nerves. Im telling you guys, he's the best in this business and you won't find anyone close! Thank you David!!!!!! You are a lifesaver, hardworking attorney that deserves a movie about you for how great you are LOL, THANK YOU MR. CMELIK!!

I can not appreciate David enough - as a professional student, my case happened at a worst time and stress of this legal case definitely affected me over these last 6 months. However, despite that, David was able to help me and get my case resolved to the best possible scenario. David was clear, thorough, and just was available whenever I had a question. I will recommend anyone who has a small legal problem to go to David. Thank you David for everything!
