We initially went to this lawyer for help getting charges expunged from my husband's record. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and unclear. After back and forth conversations, we found out they weren't actually able to help with the expungement at all. Fine, we moved forward and paid them to help us file bankruptcy. Now that we're relocating, we decided not to continue working with them and requested a refund on June 17th. We followed up on June 30th, and were told the check wasn't ready, with no specific date given. When we finally picked it up on July 2nd, we saw that the check had been dated June 27th, so why wasn't it available when we called? Even worse, after working with us for over a year and a half and repeatedly correcting them, they still spelled my husband's name wrong on the check. Because of that, we couldn't even cash it. And to top it all off, when I picked up the check, the staff literally laughed in my face. This is after previously hanging up on us during phone calls, despite us never being rude or disrespectful. We are two young parents clearly trying our best through a difficult time, and the way we were treated was degrading, dismissive, and frankly, shameful. This kind of behavior is unprofessional and completely inappropriate from anyone, let alone a legal office. Your actions didn't just inconvenience us, they directly impacted our family and our kids.
