I had the pleasure of working with Charles Rathburn on my DUI case, and I couldn't have asked for a better attorney. Mr. Chuck Rathburn went above and beyond for me, in an unfortunate time of my life. I reached to his office and was contacted the same day! Which I had tried several over forms and no one reached back out at all. He asked me some questions about my situation and went through some of the options. I took the night to figure out if I could financially go with him or not. Unfortunately I was unable to, but when I reached out and told him my decision is where his true character stood out! Worst attorney in Indiana by a mile. I hired Charles Rathburn, who claimed to be a DUI expert and it was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. He would often ghost me for months at a time until the day before the next hearing date. During my trial, he was completely unprepared -- he didn't have any of the evidence I personally provided him, nor did he present anything he supposedly requested after having me sign a release for my military and medical records. Instead of defending me aggressively, he was overly friendly and accommodating to the prosecution, almost as if they were his clients and/or to get kudo points with the prosecuting attorney. Additionally, throughout the 3 day trial, he appeared nervous, sweating profusely, and his performance was so poor that my later appeal had no chance in hell. It was denied. In my opinion of the experience I had with him as my defense attorney, he showed zero professionalism, zero preparation, and zero advocacy for me as a client which I attribute to the guilty verdict of my 0.03 BAC (state law is 0.08 or above) and my first and only DUI charge. I would strongly caution anyone against hiring him.
