Client Testimonials

Client

Do not recommend if working on an estate case. We were recommended to work with one lawyer and he ended up leaving the law firm. We stayed as Zoe who took over was great at the beginning but then we ended up getting tossed around to multiple different people. Paid over 2,000 for them to argue with us instead of the estate. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I absolutely regret hiring this law firm. We met with attorney Zoe in there Galesburg office for a workmans comp case and sat for a FREE consultation. She gladly took our $1500 to retain their firm and immediately got to working on our case which was what we were expecting however from the very beginning we noticed that communication was not the best and the receptionist in the galesburg office was extremely rude. Every step of the way the attorneys told us what they thought would be in our best interest to protect our exposure and the interest of our business and I believed that was true. Fast forward to yesterday I called the Peoria office to get an update on the case since the last time we spoke with Zoe was on Jan 9th. Was told by a gentleman that someone would send us an email. Later that day we get an email but no update on case. They instead sent us our very first invoice of over 10 grand and we are not even done. Mind you we hired this firm over 6 months ago and up until now have never gotten not one single invoice. We discovered that this law firm has charged us for every single email or phone conversation that they had with us discussing our case. $300 dollars an hour is what they are charging. We are not even done with our case and are still going to have to pay out whatever is awarded to the person who is making these ridiculous claims. We told Zoe that money was an issue and that we didn't want to drag this out because we didn't want to exhaust our selves or our bank account. We would have rather settled a long time ago and paid the 10 grand to her but by the time it's all said and done it looks like this law firm is going to bleed us out financially until we are forced to close our business. How is that acting in our best interest? Tried to reach my the attorney today and was told she cant call me till next Wednesday. Like seriously??? Its not possible to take 5 minutes to call me Monday so we can discuss our options?? At this point we are beyond frustrated and our experience so far has not been good. I'm giving them till Wednesday to make things right. Next step is reporting these people to the bar association.

Would not recommend. While shopping for lawyers I spoke with them two times to discuss a potential property line case I may have had (Wasn't sure. Hence the call to the lawyer). Once to see if that was something they even handled and the second to give a more detailed breakdown and see how confident they felt and potentially move forward with handling my case. Gave my situation to the guy over the phone and updated him on the whole matter. At the end of my spiel I asked "What do we think and what are my options?" Guy responds with "Well I think you're looking for free advice". I let it slide and said "No. I'm not." Guy responds again with "Well you're not looking for free advice but you're looking for free advice, right." Didn't need to hear anymore. We do real estate for a living and are no strangers to needing attorneys for various matters. This could've been one but needed to hear how confident they felt in the matter. They answered sure enough. Maybe it was a bad day for them or maybe guy misinterpreted my intentions, idk, but the guy completely lost me as any type of a client after that. Called Heyl Royster after them. They were great.
