Client Testimonials

Client

I keep running into similar problems with attorneys. Mom and I were abuse victims and she inherited some money. A sibling thought it should be his money and is an attorney. He convinced her to disinherit another sibling and me and leave everything to him until it backfired. He berated her, made threats, demanded asset access and threatened litigation. He and his wife made backroom medical decisions that almost caused Mom's immediate death. However, neither socialized with Mom nor had any actual authority. Problems escalated in 2002 and continued until 2015. Walker's drafts had many grammatical and factual errors, confused dates, named wrong party, the case caption was wrong, facts mixed up etc. Didn't matter if the draft was a motion, Response or appellate brief. He sent draft after draft with the same errors. I made the corrections again and again. Missed a huge issue which could have been circumvented. The Judge ruled against me but didn't cite why. Walker was going to appeal but did a reconsideration motion. With 30 years litigation experience certain simple things should be known, but apparently not Walker. Judge ruled against me again. Walker filed two appeal notices. Walker stated the ruling was I failed to do a specific act. Months later, I asked multiple times the nature of Judge's ruling, but no attempted half answer until filing the first appeal brief. Walker's new ruling version was completely different than original which was winnable. The new version was unwinnable. Before the switch on advised rulings, for months I suggested settlement, but Walker didn't respond. When finally formed, Walker delayed sending the settlement proposal for weeks. Walker's bill was paid in full and had a surplus retainer. Do you think Walker may have committed malpractice or fraud or padded his bill or a combination or neither or something else? Do you think he was covering up something to protect himself, not covering anything up or something completely different? New trustee appointed. Can't fight every issue, but Walker basically fought none. An emergency motion was filed. Walker given refuting receipts and opposition's documents refuted the allegations, but Walker did nothing. Zero. Walker felt "uncomfortable" including any statement the attorney's documents refuted their allegations. 10 months after appointment, assets were not transferred, real estate taxes were sold and no insurance purchased by the new trustee. Walker had no problem with the real estate taxes not being redeemed while interest, fees and penalties compounded. Walker threatened that if I didn't help buy the insurance, he would charge me $700 for him to arrange the insurance for the new trustee. While Walker billed time for unwinnable appeal, time for other trial court and threating me, do you think Walker may have committed malpractice, careless negligence, fraud, intimidation, padded his bill, or some combination thereof or none of the foregoing or something else? The Appellate Court Order ruled against appeal. No ruling on my claims and made findings in favor of the claims. Reasonable to seek payment or settlement. Walker stated new trustee to consider payment or seek a ruling. He stated settlement wasn't likely then it was. Walker kept changing advice even when reminded of previous advice. All changes concerning the same issue and circumstances. If interested, I have been making payments. Walker forwarded copies of the Orders with explanation, but explanations changed. I sent information but had to repeat and repeat over and over. Walker remembered what the opposition wanted. Do you think Walker has credibility, some credibility, a little credibility, zero credibility or that additional information is needed before deciding the question? Walker has been given many opportunities to fix problems and advised what might fix problems but he apparently has no interest and hasn't responded. Zero. By the way in case you are interested, Walker records well. I wonder if other clients experienced similar issues.

Attorney Dan Walker is truly outstanding! When I brought my case against Chicago Public Schools to him, I was impressed by his fearless approach, especially considering their considerable resources. Dan's dedication to justice was evident from the start, as he swiftly moved my case forward with efficiency and precision. Despite his busy schedule, he consistently kept me informed, demonstrating his commitment to clear communication. What's more, his genuine concern for my well-being, as evidenced by his post-case follow-up, speaks volumes about his character. In the courtroom, Dan was nothing short of remarkable, tirelessly advocating for my interests. Thanks to his expertise and tenacity, I emerged victorious in my case. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly endorse him to anyone seeking legal representation. Dr. Phyllis Porter, CEO PPES Inc.

Mr. Walker has been handling with my child Custody case for close to or about over a year by now, it's always a pleasure speaking with the staff at the office and him over the phone if not in person. He understood what I needed done in my case and advised the best action to take. I have to say close to all of what I wanted accomplished was done and that's saying something for tough fought child custody case. Overall I highly recommend going with Dan Walker.

Client

Poor communication. Dan Walker said I lost my case, no, he lost my case. I had no say so, no input. He learned early on in case, Judge was probably going to rule in Defendants side. Wouldn't tell me why, just "I get the feeling". He said he spoke to me and my Husband many times. My Husband died before this case ended. And, I was the client. I asked his office for updates, nothing. His "Letter of Demand" had multiple mistakes and. I had to ask him to make changes, just lies, stuff he made up. Such as, "Ms. Dietz could not sleep in her bed because she could not get up the stairs to get to it". There are no stairs to bedroom in the Ranch house, many reasons I did not sleep in my bed, but stairs were not a reason, stairs do not exist. This question was asked of me in Deposition and my husband's. Where did he get this? Then, " Ms.Dietz needed to use a Cane for approximately 6 months." I used a cane for an entire 18 months, and some weeks beyond while I weaned myself off of it. Where did "Approximately 6 months" come from? These were false statements. Dan Walker said I lost my case because I was unable to tell Judge how I fell, I never saw a Judge, never in a Courtroom. I called his office many times to ask if I should be at Court Appearance, was told "No, just the Attorneys". I would then ask if I could be updated on what happened. Was told" We will keep you updated". Never updated other than canceled Depositions and Court Appearances. Did Dan Walker ever do the questioning? Why was I not ever allowed to give anyone my side of story? I was deposed by other side, instructed to only answer their questions, like how old are your grandkids, who was your bike riding buddy? Didn't have one. Any Social Media? Which way did your Coffee Cup lid open? I asked Dan Walker what is being done for me. He said he went to see train and he briefed me. Briefed me? On what? Questions he asked me before Deposition, like are you nearsighted or farsighted?, Why did you have Breast Surgery? Then getting angry with me when he asked how I entered train from platform, I said I turn left into vestibule, then right into car, he said "Absolutely impossible". What? He repeated "Absolutely impossible" multiple times and became angry. I saw he was drawing something, told him his sketch of train and platform were wrong, backwards. I was right. He agreed. Anyway, where is briefing? He never told me what to expect from the Depo, never told me I would never speak to anyone about my case, never told me until after he lost case that loss of wages, pain and suffering, many months of PT to learn to walk again, 4 months on a Walker, no weight bearing on right foot/leg would have no bearing on my case. Dan Walker instructed me to lie from the beginning, he said we will say you tripped on metal strip at end of ramp I fell on, then he could not prove that. I slipped on that ramp due to the ramp being wet, he said we could not use that, although it was the truth. Wish I had called Lerner and Rowe. Would never recommend this Law Firm My husband was dead. This man will not help you and he does not care

I had a very bad experience with this law firm with my divorce. They don't do as promised per contract. Never recieved statements from them about what they worked on for my case, and they surprised me with a bill. The secretary claimed that my file is sitting on the attorneys desk. I asked her what he has done and she explained he filed an appearance. In fact I filed pro se before hiring him. My husband and I reconciled before our first court date, and his attorney did all the work. Dan walker used up Almost half my retainer and claimed he did work. When I asked for a statement after almost 3 months it took a week to come up with one and be mailed to me. If you have money that you work hard for to waste hire him! I definitely won't be giving him any referrals.
