I asked Dan Hood for real estate and estate planning advice and he was very informative, he explained different options available for me and my family. This is a big help for my family so they will know what to expect in the future. I highly recommend Hood Law for your real estate and estate planning needs!

I contacted Dan Hood, whom I had used previously for some simple estate settlement work. I told him that a dog breeder had breached our verbal agreement for a puppy and refused to refund my money. He charged me $300 to send her a letter and make a few phone calls to her, which did not succeed in getting a refund. Then he told me to forget about it, advising that I would lose the case if I sued her. He basically took her side and was demeaning to me for wanting to continue pursuing a refund. I filed a small claims case against her on my own and won. I got my full refund, plus all legal and filing fees back. Apparently Mr. Hood is unaware that when a business breaches their contract and is sued, they will be awarded their full refund plus legal fees. I think he just didn't want to be bothered with it. Maybe he is better at form letters and filling out basic paperwork to file in court than actually advocating for a paying client.

My husband and I have high praise for Hood Law! Both Tom and Dan made us feel comfortable in every situation that we have needed their services. We have used their services for estate planning, probate and real estate. They also helped us when my father passed and we had the duty of executor(s) of his estate. Knowing how to handle all of those duties was much easier with their guidance. We feel that they are both trustworthy, understanding, competent and men of integrity. I say you want Hood Law representing you in any of these situations....good guys to have in your corner!

After having our baby, my husband and I knew we needed legal documents in place in case anything were to happen to us. Dan Hood Is a great family lawyer and assisted us with doing this. He was very responsive in his emails to us and helped explain anything in the documents we were unsure about. He even stayed late at the office the day we needed to come in and sign everything. I would recommend Dan to anyone. This is a great family run business and we are so happy to have worked with the Hoods.

I worked with Dan and overall I would say my experience was unpleasant. He's a really polite guy but I feel pretty robbed considering I had to do half of his job for him. I got tricked into using him as my real estate attorney as well as probate, that was a mistake... I've made several really estate transactions in the past and it was frustrating to have literally 0 communication from Dan the ENTIRE time. In fact, I had to reach out to him about all the closing documents I never received from him (this was 3 days before closing and his office is over an hour away, closing date never changed either). He made me overnight all the documents back to him on my dime even though he dropped the ball.
As for probate, this is my first experience with probate so it's hard for me to say if this experience was acceptable or not. I do know that this was a VERY simple probate case, not sure it could have been any easier to handle from an administrative aspect.
He barely answered any of my questions, he would simply tell me to ask someone else (such as vehicle titles belonging to the deceased and tax return owed to the deceased). His dates on when the estate would be discharged were all messed up - again, I had to reach out and correct him and was given a run-around as to "why" he was almost a month off on his dates. And sure enough, it got discharged exactly when I said it would as opposed to his "guess".
Overall I wish I would have looked into a better attorney. I got more answers from my own Googling than I did from my attorney that I paid thousands of dollars for. I had realized my mistake in picking Dan early on but was unfortunately didn't really have an option of getting out of the check he had cashed, especially since he had rendered services to an extent. Really nice guy but strongly recommend using a different attorney, perhaps one more experienced?
