The Heartland Law Firm

Where do I begin? I believe I reached out to the Heartland Law Firm back in late August or the very early part of September 2025 because I was looking to retain counsel on a what I would say a very simple probate matter. I spoke with Chris on my initial consultation. During the consultation I had a question that required him to do some further research. A couple days go past no call back, so I reached out to see if Chris was able to come up with an answer to my question. Long story short no. But assured me he would give me a call back the following day with an answer. The next day I never received the follow up call. Fast forward mid October I am starting to get solicitations asking am I in need of there services. I pondered if I would want to readdress my probate issue with a firm that lack the most important aspect of a pricey transaction (lawyer/client), timely communication. I reached out again, Chris called the next day, did the usual apology, signals got crossed etc. so we discussed some things and I decided in good faith to have the firm move forward with my probate matter. Chris stated once we get off the phone he would draft up a letter of engagement and forward it to my email so I can retain the firm. Unfortunately 3 days later no email no call nor engagement letter. I can't see how this law firm has good reviews with the lack of communication that I have experienced since August of 2025 til mid October. The plus side I'm glad I never paid them any money. Communication is paramount when it comes to legal matters because you are placing trust in people you hope to represent your interest. Prospective client move forward with caution.

I knew in a few moments when speaking with one of their attorneys that this practice was the wrong one for me. He seemed to stumble his words. Don't waste your time. They would not take a simple case, probably because it would not benefit them financially. Fortunately, I spoke with another attorney with a different practice a couple of hours earlier and he gave me so many details, including a flat fee and the process of my case. So I will be acquiring them. I wanted to see what each of them would say to me. What a startling difference! ADDENDUM: The 'Response from the owner' is a joke. Is this your best response? I am not an AI Bot! Yesterday I had an 11am phone conversation with Chris Proctor. I have the emails confirming our appointment. All your responses to others that gave you low ratings are absurd and unprofessional. Your intimidation does not work. ADDENDUM: Obviously, they changed their response because initially they said I was an 'AI Bot.' As attorneys, your credibility is next to nothing.

It was truly a pleasure speaking with Patricia Rochnowska. She was very patient, explained everything thoroughly answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable in moving forward with plans. Thanks Patricia.

Adam was very polite and made me feel comfortable speaking with him, no judgements towards me! Even provided other places that could possibly help, but I already tried them, only to be told no do to limited resources.

EDIT; THESE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THEIR DUCKS IN A ROW. I RECEIVED CORRESPONDENCE FROM SEVERAL PEOPLE & WHY WOULD THEY EVEN TAKE A CASE WHEN THE ATTORNEY WAS OUT ON VACATION TO GET MARRIED!! MY CASE CAN'T GO ANYWHERE, I GET THAT BUT THEY DID NOT MAINTAIN PROPER CONTACT WITH ME, THERE WERE WAY TOO MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. MY FIRST REVIEW STILL STANDS. Adam listened attentively during my phone consultation. He asked questions confirming he was internalizing my story. He validated what i had already suspected & made me feel heard. He told me exactly what he would do to help me, he offered condolences & hope of some relief. The hope that i need to begin properly grieving, which has been denied me thus far seems closer. I have officially hired him.
