I wouldn't recommend him to an enemy. I worked with him following an accident at the end of February during the initial process trying to work with the insurance company was so stressful for me and I had never went through this so as my attorney I expected him to HELP or advise. he wouldn't and didn't provide ANY assistance what so ever, his attitude was condescending, he would use passive aggressive verbiage and I was just already overwhelmed and through. So March 20th, 2024 I called to terminate his services. The problem I ran into was that I didn't provide that in writing so he claims to continue "working". He called me March 25,2024 and said "I haven't heard from you I know we kind of got off on a bad foot, do you still want to terminate" I explained to him why I wanted to terminate and he told me "well I'm willing to help you" and his attitude completely changed, for two days he assisted with me getting my title over to the insurance company and from that day forward I didn't hear from him again never mind the times that I called to follow up on the case with his assistant Angela. Fast forward to 12/4/2024 he calls me and tells me that it's best that I come in to talk about the initial settlement. Knowing how low the offer was I'm insulted that he couldn't figure out how to run the numbers by me over the phone. Here we are the next day discussing the initial settlement and he flat out says for $2000 for both me and my daughter that's the best he can do and that is what I should take. What!?? He then adds on all of these charges that are beyond his 30%. He states that he spent his money to obtain medical record yet I know for a fact he didn't because my daughter suffered injuries beyond mine and she got offered less not to mention he stated he doesn't charge the 30% for children which is in our contract although during the conversation it was something totally different. It's not about me not wanting to pay him this is simply about not wanting to work with someone who has a problem with being respectful, helpful or even professional to POC. I've seen reviews from other sources and notice the only negatives ones are from POC! He knew exactly what he was doing playing the push and pull game with me and now that I have shown I am completely disgusted by his work ethics and lack of professionalism he plays the victim role DO NOT WORK WITH HIM!

I have known Mr. Schum for years and him and his staff has always been professional and caring to me and my family and friends he has helped with several cases for me and my family.I just would like to say thank you for all your help throughout the years anybody that retains his law firm would be very satisfied.

I was a client of Schum . He is literally what his name is . I have the worst Neck pain ever from the crash I experienced. He referred me to dr Crawford . Dr Crawford is out of his mind . He stuck his fingers in my neck trying to purposely injure me . I switched chiropractors immediately. Schum got me a really low settlement. He was out for hisself . I had good health insurance and he still allowed Schum and Melby to place a lien on my settlement . DO NOT GO TO HIM !!!!
