Let me first start by saying when I was first introduced to Burgess and Christensen I was treated with such kindness and warm respect it was very nice to know that we still have some wonderful people in our world. The first person I spoke with was Mrs.Alice she was so polite and kind and very very knowledgeable and helpful through every question or concern that I had every time I felt as though I was losing my mind going through this painful process being that I have never been through it before age 62 it was very discouraging and felt like the end of the world was coming down on me through my process I had some severe injuries but through all of that every time I reached out to Miss Alice Burgess and Christensen she may show that she did her best to first to always greet me polite and what a happy sounding voice of any question or concern I had that if she didn't know she would find out and reach back out to me as soon as possible. Also there was a young lady I think I can't remember her name and I apologize that works the front desk answering the phones she did a wonderful job of always directing me in the right direction to have someone contact me as soon as possible. My experience with Burgess & Christensen was excellent from beginning to end. I worked primarily with Attorney Burgess and Alice. The entire staff was pleasant to work with. They were clear and remained in contact. Initially I received SSDI on the first try, with their assistance, without backpay. SSDI changed the onset date from what was submitted. I spoke with Attorney Burgess and then decided to appeal the onset date. I requested to appear in person which Attorney Bugess agreed was best in my case. When we went before the Judge I was respectful, authentic, and was completely honest and in the end the Judge ordered in my favor. It took quite some time overall but that was due to Social Security, not B&C. Be patient, trust your team, trust the process and do exactly as they say. Follow up as you desire, you have every right to call and check on whatever you want to. It takes patience and there is a lot of waiting. If you run into any concerns just give B&C a call and they will guide and educate you on what the next steps are. Attorney Burgess agreed to meet with me as many times as I wanted/ needed to before the hearing. Take her up on this. She was so kind, professional and caring. Ultimately she can only plead your case and ask the best questions if she knows and has everything and in a timely manner. You are a key part of the process and also need to advocate for yourself. It can be very difficult for some to navigate the process. Just keep going as best you can. They will do what they can to help, you just have to ask. Thank you Burgess and Christensen.
