Client
Response to Owner: * I messaged on Dec 14, Dec 20, and Dec 28 about the court notice and received no reply until Dec 29. * The Dec 29 message was when I was told I would have to appear in person on Jan 4 leaving 4 business days over a holiday week to rearrange travel. * I requested more information and a possible refund. You immediately marked the case as "resolved," and after that, there was no further response to my initial questions or follow-up questions. * From my records, the only thing done on my case was you filing an entry of appearance. * I never threatened bad reviews or made any other threats, this is the first response I've received from you. I asked what had actually been done on the case and requested a refund based on communication delays and a demand for an additional $300. My concern has always been communication and transparency, not the legal outcome itself. Original review: I hired Bridgett through "Off The Record" to assist with a speeding ticket and expected timely communication and guidance. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. My messages went unanswered for long periods, and I wasn't informed that I might need to appear in court until only six days before the date -- right before a holiday weekend -- despite following up multiple times weeks earlier. The attorney used a "delay the case" strategy with the court, which may benefit some clients, but in my case it absolutely backfired. Because I wasn't told that appearing in person was still a real possibility, I had no chance to make arrangements when the court finally required my attendance. To make things worse, the case was marked "resolved" and communication stopped before I even paid the fine or confirmed next steps. I had to handle the matter myself despite paying for representation. I asked for clarification and was not met with any kind of communication from the attorney. She had my money and couldn't be bothered I guess. So I ended up getting the points on my record and paying double what the fine would have been. Legal representation should provide clarity and timely updates, not leave clients scrambling at the last minute. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this attorney.
