Compton and Smith PA

I attempted to hire Ms Compton to help represent me during mediation to correct some grey areas in my current parenting plan. I skeptically paid her $3000 for a retainer and never heard from her again. I eventually heard from Todd Smith who took my case to mediation, after 10 hours of mediation and nothing getting accomplished I received a bill for $5200. I spent over $8000 and literally got nothing out of this law firm. I have never felt as ripped off as I do now. Leave it to a lousy law firm to win that award. I would not recommend this firm!!

Although I have never used this attorney I had a case that the other party used him Todd. During my case which was well over 30 grand from my attorney. To get a horrible deal my lawyer told me during my mediation that since my case was being mediated that I needed to sign the agreement because my attorney could no longer represent me because Smith and my lawyer at the time had merged together and I was being dropped I was 22 at the time. Now I am trying to get 3 plus years of back child support because child in question live with me now full time this office has failed multiple times to provide fincial affidavits and good old pasco county court system see nothing wrong with the fact my lawyer and this guy merged. Conflict of interest. I've paid my new lawyer 5k have gotten no where. I'm filing complaints as fast as I can on all parties idk about Compton but Smith is a joke of a lawyer with a face you'd really like to punch. Also anybody who want proof of my claims I'd be happy to show.

The staff and Compton and Smith are all very professional- I was in an auto accident and within 4 days of retaining them, my car was fixed and I was provided a rental car- *Joan is a true go-getter and a kind and noble woman. Todd is most responsive, wise and understanding. I highly recommend this firm over any one of the other ambulance chasers available in this city. Rae Anne should be proud of her staff and the firm she's built and manages

Raeann is a shark! She handled my case and made sure I got what I wanted. She also handled 2 of my fiends after me. Everything was done asap. If you want to drag it out and not sure then that's on you. I told her what's going on I don't want to play games and she handled it asap. I saw some reviews saying it took a long time but thats not the experience I had.

I found Compton and Smith law firm through a member at my church. I was thinking since I got it through church they should be ok right?? Nooo I was wrong, I Really wished I looked at their reviews before signing on with Raeann Compton. I hired them in 2019. My husband of 8 years left me 2 kids and pregnant. Now knowing my situation my main goal was to get financial support from him. I explained the importance of that especially since I was due July 2020 and I did not get paid maternity leave... now let me repeat that I knew I did not get Paid Maternity leave... I explained all of this to Raeann, and she seemed that she understood. While working with them it was A lot of delays with response. A lot of repeat signing because of one issue or another. Only time I got a call urgently is when the ONE time my payment didn't go through. I also had an issue with bruises on my daughter, after visiting her dad. I asked for help. Jessica I would say is the one employee there that was nice to me. And for that thank you. I was a struggling single parent and I sent the office the pictures via email. I then was asked to deliver the photos to the office, mind you This was BEFORE Covid.. when entering the office I encountered JOAN.. needless to say she acted with prejudice and didn't want to approach me. I stated I was told to drop these off by Raeann. She stated leave them on the desk. It went down hill from there. I then was called back to see if I could take another copy to the court house. I firmly stated No. I thought it was just unprofessional how they were sending me around and around just to deliver the pictures. Fast forward to July 2020. I had my 3rd child. I still wasn't getting financial help. I always made sure I gave them everything they needed I stayed on top of everything. I called Raeann .. From the hospital bed to ask about the filling of child support help/ Temporary help for the time. Still didn't happen.. at this point No money was coming in my house hold I explained that. There was no urgency. I guess when it's not the person .. They don't care. I would call and ask questions... JOAN..( remember that name?) HUNG UP on me not once BUT Twice on Two different Occasions. She didn't understand how to take a payment over the phone.. and got frustrated with me. If I asked any question she got frustrated. Very unprofessional and I believe she was prejudice because I was African American. I talked to Raeann about the TWO incidents and she just explained .." how people are different when they are from different areas.".. in my mind I thought that wasn't an excuse.?!? I paid TOO much money to be hung up on. Towards the end of 2020. I was told I needed to give them another retainer fee. I said I'm not even getting any financial help from their dad. Raeann said we were just about to file that... it was the End of 2020!! It's ridiculous it was the worse experience. These people are After your Money!! That is it. I borrowed money to retain them explained what I wanted. At the last conversation Raeann said you can't borrow the money from someone again.... I was so angered and upset. Who does that?!! I work hard for everything I have. It's not easy asking someone for money. My Ex gave them all of his financials. They did not give him anything on my Behalf. So I paid them A lot of money.. only to be Told I owed them More!! Yikes. I am a single mother of Three still not getting child support with my oldest being specials needs... stuck paying them payments for doing Nothing... Don't be like ME Read Reviews... the others for them say the same... Run!!! Run!!! Run!!! They take advantage of people. I am working on my own still trying to finish this issue. There are awful people out there who do nothing and still cheat people...!!! Again Run!!! RUN!!! RUN!!!!
