I hired this firm on January 26 and asked for a refund on February 5 -- after realizing in that short window that nothing meaningful had been done on my case. The only real communication I received was a series of emails telling me that the attorney was "in trial" and that they would get back to me "next week." Meanwhile, my situation was urgent, and I repeatedly reached out asking for updates and assistance. Despite having my case for barely a week -- with no filings, no action taken, and not even a phone call from the attorney -- they still attempted to keep the majority of my retainer. I had to chase them down for almost every response. When I asked for my executed retainer agreement, I received excuses and delays. When I asked for my refund, I was told the attorney would "provide a ledger" at some later time, and then again that they would "process a partial refund next week." Every response was a stall tactic. The paralegal communicated more than the attorney, yet none of the communication moved my case forward. Even after I communicated urgent new information about my daughter's therapist reporting to DCF, nothing was done. No strategy, no follow-up, no guidance -- nothing. In the end, they kept taxes and fees and only returned a portion of my money, even though they had my case for roughly a week and performed no actual legal work. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and felt like a complete waste of time and money. I'm leaving this review so others know what to expect before handing over thousands of dollars.

I was married for 22 years, and in 2022 my ex-husband divorced me in Haiti. I believed that was a legitimate divorce. After some time and confusion, a friend referred me to Linda E.
