On December 1, 2022, I was working at a preschool, I am a teacher, I managed to save some children from falling and getting hurt, however after leaving the children safe I lost my balance and fell breaking my right wrist. This made me suffer a lot. I am a Brazilian immigrant, and I live legally in the USA. I am an American citizen, and yet I didn't know my rights. When I went to the hospital for surgery to put my hand back where it belonged, I had to pay a very high amount to the hospital and the nurse asked me how that happened, I explained that it was at the school where I worked, so she told me why I wasn't using work compensation.
