Reached out to this law firm regarding my potential case for a free consultation. Had a lovely woman reach out to me to get the gist of my case and was told I'd hear from someone in a few days. In a short time got a voicemail from a woman named Brandy who says the lawyer wants to take a deeper dive into my case and wants to schedule a time to talk. Boy oh boy! Talk about clutch my pearls! I've spent months digging up records and now someone is finally going to talk to me, hear my side and give me some guidance! I used those two days to get everything together and was so excited that an actual lawyer wanted to hear me out! WRONG! Lexi (not sure of spelling) gets on the phone and says they're not able to take my case. Well you can imagine the immediate deflation of my sails. I asked was there anything she could tell me that led her to this decision, she simply said: we feel your case isn't a good fit. I then call back and a lovely woman helps me to appreciate they schedule all of their rejection calls and the language used probably wasn't the best. Fair. But why schedule to talk to me, have me set time out of my day, you won't take the case you won't answer any questions and you won't ask me anything or explain any weaknesses or strengths, just get my hopes up and reject my case. A simple phone call would have sufficed days ago without waisting my time or my emotions in an already delicate time in my life. And maybe don't advertise a consultation if you're not actually going to allow me to consult you for direction and potential help. Shame on you. * UPDATE: Their patronizing and narcissistic reply implying I'm whining about not being chosen as a client is disgusting. So let's make this clear, offering a free consultation with no intention of giving that consultation but using it as a screening process instead is wrong. They say they explain why a decision was made but bothered to do no such thing, instead I got pretentious rudeness. Again, not doing what they claim to do in their own response. Telling someone that a lawyer wants to talk with them and will be taking a deeper dive into their case and asking them to carve time out for that when it's the complete opposite is morally wrong and it's a lie. This wasn't about getting picked on your team, it's a thousand other firms I wasn't married to this one, I just expected a consultation as promised and maybe what you claim to give- respect. But I guess that's only reserved for the money makers. As I said: SHAME ON YOU!
