It was a long process waiting to get my hearing but the day arrived I was very nervous. I had an assistant attorney named Matt who helped me along the way the second hearing was a success as well. The lawyer was able to organize papers and reference them in a way that was required by the judge. They did get some records that I did not previously have. I was able to get a Neurologist to write about the medical basis of the disability, symptoms and reasons for the symptoms which was heavily weighted upon. I did not receive any tips for medical professionals to do this. Tips could be outlined in writing. The lawyer for Avard only spoke to us one time 2 months before the court hearing. Calls afterwards were not returned by the lawyer, but a secretary days later. The lawyer did get information about the disease/ disease process, and symptoms. He did not prepare the client for any questions. On a positive note, the case was won. We may not have won without legal representation. However, we will not use Avard Law again.
