Just when I thought the art of effective listening, empathy and legal acumen were a thing of the past. I researched and found what I've come to understand as a Godsend in the estate planning of my Late Mother. Our Bank invited us to have our " Last Will " reviewed by Ms. Collette K. Meyer, ESQ. of Meyer Law Firm, in Jupiter , Florida, several years ago... Since we are Permanent Residents of the United States a different set of rules apply to us. Ms. Meyer, reviewed our " Last Will " set up by another Lawyer which we paid for and discovered, that what we needed for our special situation under US Law is not reflected in this Will at all. We ask for a TRUST and received a Will, which goes through Probate. What a surprise. We had an initial meeting with Ms. Meyer to discuss the details of what we wanted in this " TRUST ". After that, additional meetings with reviews of the TRUST took place in her office. Along the way we met several members of her team. We were always treated with courtesy, respect & professionalism when visiting the Law Firm. Ms. Meyer contacted the Brokerage Houses by mail on our behalf to make the necessary changes on each account according with the Trust . We , of course are very pleased with the final document which was produced by the Meyer Law Firm , knowing we are in good hands is a good feeling, and that our TRUST is set up according with our last wishes.
