There were many moments I wanted to give up. Not because I doubted the truth of my claim, but because the insurance companies, medical staff, and even some attorneys were so cold, transactional, and dismissive. Each encounter made it harder to believe my experience mattered to anyone but me. In that alienating environment, I needed Adam's encouragement and humanity.
