Absolutely dreadful! Despite claiming expertise in construction disputes, Ms. Stelnick's incompetence and lack of professional negligence compounded a catastrophic loss for me. After our home flooded and suffering exposure to asbestos during Covid, she advised me to sue for over $200K for personal injury and future healthcare expenses when I was only seeking a refund of $19K from the contractor at fault. However, nearly two years and $14K in legal fees later, the judge immediately informed me and Christina that California State Licensed Contractors are not liable for personal injury! Contractors are only liable for household damages not to exceed their bond limit, here just $15K. Moreover, legal fees are also not recoverable. These basic legal facts, along with the maximum recoverable amount by California law, should have been known to her. Our insurance company rebuilt our house and provided housing for 4 months, but we lost our personal effects and the security of our home during a pandemic, which no amount of money could replace. How can any human being take advantage of a fellow human being like this. When I instructed Ms. Stelnick to ask for the contractor's fees to be returned, she abandoned the case, she even bailed on the mediation at the last minute. This abandonment is particularly egregious given the traumatic experience I had been through, which Ms. Stelnick was aware of from our first meeting. It's shameful that she advised me to pursue unrecoverable damages when FREE arbitration was the best and only option. The CSLB offers free and fast binding arbitration which Stelnik should have told me at our first meeting. Ms. Stelnick's actions can be compared to going to a dentist with a toothache and being advised to remove all the teeth just to stop the pain. I was shocked at the amount of damages demanded but I trusted her knowledge, the point of hiring a legal expert. It's beyond disappointing that Stelnick failed to acknowledge her mistake, despite being reported to the Bar. Including the significant amount of time and money spent on her, non recoverable, legal fees makes her actions even more egregious. I agree with review below she is heartless, and now I question Christina's motives, she seemed so sweet and committed to what was a meritless case from day one.

We came to Steffanie regarding issues with a very complicated and emotionally stressful real estate contract relating to the sale of our our home. The situation was way beyond our particular skill set and we needed a knowledgeable attorney to handle our case. We chose Steffanie because of her combined background as both an attorney and realtor so she would have insight into the full range of our problem. She and her staff are very reachable. Whenever we have a question or concern, she gets right back to us on the phone or email. This open accessibility made us feel much more in control of our situation We explained to her that this was going to be a difficult case. She told us, "That's OK, I am a fighter, we will fight this together." We feel confident in her expertise and appreciate her professionalism and her easily approachable manner. My mother passed away and so began a very difficult journey of loss and betrayal by my brother the Trustee. He filed an unlawful detainer to evict me from my mother's townhome and Christina Hahn handled his case. Christina Hahn mediated and came to a resolution that was perfect for both of us. Christina is kind, empathetic, gracious and professional. She brought closure to a very challenging chapter in my life and I am very grateful to her. Update - I was lied to and misled by Christina Hahn and her boss Steffanie Stelnick who in my opinion should be disbarred for blatant perjury in court. She told the Judge that I called a realtor and harassed him. I did no such thing. I am homeless because, I simply asked if the unit could not be shown between 1:30 and 5 on January 26, 2023. I signed a settlement thinking that all would be done honorably and nothing was. This law firm/real estate agency is completely without morals or ethics. Steffanie Stelnick claims to raise money for the homeless but she put a 62 year old woman on the street after filing 3 ex partes for the most trivial of reasons. Her whole plan was never to allow me to stay in my mother's townhome where my brother lived for free for 8 years. Her plan along with Trustee John Xavier Marot was to find any means, no matter how trivial, to have me evicted and they did for the reason above. I asked if the unit could not be viewed one afternoon and that was enough to have me living in my car and I still am. They claimed they sold the unit and it was a "short escrow" and here I am two months later and no one will tell me what is going on. Do not trust this attorney unless of course, like my brother you have no empathy, conscience or scruples . . . then Steffanie Stelnick is the attorney for you.
