My attorney was quick to plea out. Didn't care that I passed the dog and pony show on the dui field tests. She had reviewed the videotapes and had taken notes and had formulated an opinion, to expedite the process. In retrospect I wish I had fought for a wet and reckless. Otherwise she was professional. Since that time she has quit and I'm assigned a new attorney. I've been trying for over a week to reach him with multiple calls , voice mails and texts. He doesn't even confirm receipt of messages or texts leaving me in the dark completely. Now I'm back to calling the public defenders office. I just need a court document that lets the dui class provider that I am referred for take the class. Simple. Oh yes, my new attorney is new to the pdo, and has not yet set up his voicemail. So you can text and five pound to page but it won't get him to call you. If I have time I'll update if I kept getting no where. Grrr...

What my Public Defender Carlie Peterson is helping me to accomplish is kind of a big deal to me and I give her credit for being able to pivot and get on the ball. Thank you for your diligence and service to the public.

I couldn't have gotten a better public defender to represent me in Criminal Court. Mr. Cutcher us very responsive and well versed when arguing my cases with the judge. I do not fear this going to trial

The public defenders in this county are a dedicated, experienced, compassionate, and very able group of attorneys. Unfortunately, they are also overworked and underpaid. Sometimes they do not return phone calls to clients as promptly as they would like, and can't hand-hold clients, or repeatedly talk to client's family members. As a whole, they do very well for their clients in court. And they counsel clients how to avoid criminal problems in the future through drug and alcohol programs, mental health counseling, and other means. Unfortunately, it's often the clients who don't listen to their attorneys or counselors, who repeatedly return to jail and then blame their attorneys on internet sites like this one. I have worked with many of these attorneys and recommend them highly.

My experience was beyond what I expected. I was granted termination of probation about a year early. With the communication before court I went to my hearing with confidence knowing we were well prepared.
