Stephen M. Rios was such a pleasure to work with. It was such a comfort to me working with him on my dissolution of marriage, as he has great knowledge and expertise of the court system and the law. Both Stephen and his wonderful assistant, Tiana, helped me through the final paperwork in my divorce. Informing me on what forms needed to be completed by both me and my ex-spouse. I tried filing on my own initially, but it became confusing on what forms to complete and the courts offer little assistance. The final paperwork was submitted by their office with no delays and my divorce judgment was completed shortly after. It was such a weight off my shoulders having Stephen and Tiana overseeing the process. I am forever grateful.

My husband and I were referred to Mr. Rios by a close friend of ours who lives in San Juan Capistrano. My husband is in the Marine Corps and originally received orders to PCS (Permanent Change of Station) in October to Camp Pendleton. I came out early to find a home and get a job. As soon as I got here everything shut down because of Covid. I rented an apartment and signed a 14 month lease. My husband's orders changed and we will be going somewhere else come October. When a servicemember receives official orders to PCS those orders, under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), allow the servicemember and his/her family to end their lease early without any penalties or loss of their deposit (unless of course they trash the place). The place where I signed the lease informed me that we would have to pay back the first month free concession, which was almost $2,000, they offered when I signed the lease here. We went back and forth, because they somehow thought their little private leasing contract superseded a federal law, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act. It absolutely DOES NOT. Mr. Rios is not only a brilliant attorney, but is also a former US Marine. When we went to him for help, he took care of the entire matter in one day! He knows what he is doing and is VERY good at it. He sounded like he was very honored to be able to help out a fellow Marine.
