About 1.5 years ago I was involved in a car accident. A driver hit me while I was in my car stopped at a red light. Her car was totaled and mine had a lot of damage due to being hit from the rear and also being pushed into the car in front of me. Within a few days after the accident, the driver's insurance company began contacting me to settle immediately for a nominal sum. However, I was experiencing back pain and indeed, ended up requiring major back surgery. About 3 weeks after the accident I contacted Caputo & Van Der Walde, LLP (referred to me by a "friend of a friend") as I was concerned about the medical costs. From the very start, Paul Caputo, and his team, Shawn Smith and Corene Abrego, treated me with professionalism, respect, kindness, compassion, generosity, and humor. They skillfully guided me through the litigation process and immediately earned my trust, which helped reduce the stress involved in the decision making steps.
