(Originally posted 11/02 before personally taking it down) I hired Ledger Law Firm between 2023-24 for my car accident after being referred to them, I should of gone to a local law firm. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing due to repeated miscommunication and case mishandling. Ultimately I felt like I got robbed of a justified amount. I told the person in charge of my case, Sabrina, early on that I did not know any physical therapists in my area who accepted liens and asked her to research and set me up an appointment since I couldn't pay out of pocket as a full-time student during their last semester. Despite several reminders, it took nearly three months before I was connected to a therapist. During that time, she went on vacation and had no contact with me. When she returned, she assumed I had already started therapy, which delayed my treatment and weakened my case. My case was later transferred to Victor Marshall, who wanted to settle things quick and easy. The insurance company's first offer was $5,000, which I felt was unreasonably low. I suggested a counteroffer of $75,000 to account for months of physical therapy, missed work and classes, and financial strain. The final offer reached $30,000, but Victor declined to push further--even though he acknowledged in emails that the at fault party's insurer had saved "over $450,000" in potential damages (this is a number he gave me in an email). Manuela, who managed billing and paperwork, made repeated calculation and paperwork errors. The most serious issue occurred when she left out one of two physical therapy bills totaling about $2,620 (before reductions). The firm only covered $1,000 of this mistake, leaving me responsible for the remainder out of pocket. Mind you they did this in the most round about way possible, by having me send in a check of the remainder of that balance so they could total it up and send it out to the billing companies I owe money to to save face. Not only this but they failed to inform me when they received the check I sent via post as they slowly started to cut communications with me. Afterwards they took their full 33% contingency fee and other costs, my medical bills were paid from this total and I received around $7,000 from a $30,000 settlement which prevented me from attending that last semester of classes as it wasn't enough for both living, travel or education related expenses. The overall process was disorganized, communication was poor, and critical details were mishandled. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm for personal injury or car accident cases. Update (11/05/2025): On Sunday, November 2, I received a call which went to voicemail from Matthew at The Ledger Law Firm asking to discuss my review. I returned his call on November 5, 2025. During our conversation, he disagreed with several points I raised and stated that the billing issue was the responsibility of the doctor's office, not the firm. He also attributed the delay in treatment to me rather than to the firm's handling of my case and mentioned that part of the tension came from my prior interactions with Victor (who is no longer with the firm). While I appreciated the follow-up, the call did not result in any acknowledgment of errors or steps toward resolution. I stand by my review as a reflection of my personal experience with this firm. Additional Note: During my call with Matthew, he stated multiple times that he was not taking notes during our conversation and even said he "swore to God" that he wasn't. However, I did hear what sounded like typing at several points while I was speaking. I'm including this note only to maintain an accurate record of the exchange in case there are later differences in how the conversation is represented.
