$5,000 for a Demand Letter with Zero Results As a small business owner of over 10 years, we've always prided ourselves on treating our customers like family and going above and beyond, even when there's no direct monetary benefit. However, in 2024, our Facebook account was hacked, resulting in a $23,000 loss due to inadequate security on Facebook's part. We sought legal help and contacted the Law Office of Parag L. Amin, hoping to recover our funds. The initial consultation was promising, and we were assured of their experience in handling such cases. On December the first payment of $5,000 was made promptly, but unfortunately, communication dwindled after that. It wasn't until late January 2025 that we received any updates, and it took until mid-February for the demand letter to be sent out. Despite repeated follow-ups, the process was slow and frustrating. In the end, after five months, Facebook did respond positively, but by then, Parag and his team requested an additional $2,500 to proceed, with no guarantee of success. This left us feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated, as the initial investment yielded no tangible results. We are certainly disappointed by how this situation unfolded. That said, we hope the law firm will take this feedback to heart and assist us in a fair and reasonable manner without further costs. (To clarify, this was not an attempt to seek free work, but rather a hope that the firm would make things right given the long delays and lack of results from the original $5000 payment) It's our hope that they'll uphold their initial commitment and truly support us in recovering what's rightfully ours. In summary, while the initial engagement was promising, the prolonged delays and additional unexpected costs made this experience very frustrating. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions. ***Update*** Following my original review, I received a direct email from the attorney accusing me of attempting to "leverage" a one-star review to obtain free work, and demanding that I remove the review by a specific deadline. The message threatened that, if I did not remove my review, he would post a negative review of my business and pursue "additional legal action," and warned of unspecified "consequences." The email included the demand: "Please remove the review, or I am going to write one back for your company and then take additional legal action..." I felt this language--especially the deadline and the threat of retaliation--was intimidating and unprofessional. Despite the pressure, I stand by my original review, which reflects my honest experience as a paying client who paid $5,000 for a demand letter and did not receive the result I expected. The attorney subsequently posted a one-star review of my business, which I believe was retaliatory. I am sharing this update to provide full transparency and to help others make an informed decision when considering this law firm.
