On September 6, 2024, as part of our community's monthly event held on the first Friday of each month, local businesses come together to promote their services by engaging with residents, handing out candy to children, hosting games, and offering live music. Having lived in Bixby Knolls for 10 years, I attended this event with my 6-year-old autistic son and 16-year-old daughter. We approached the table of Gaylord & Nantais, Attorneys at Law, to ask if we could take a piece of candy. A woman at the table responded kindly, saying, "Of course you can." However, as we took one candy each and began to walk away, a gentleman associated with the business made an unnecessarily rude comment, stating, "It's not Halloween yet," in a disrespectful manner. This remark left us feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. In response, I returned the candy and informed him that his comment was inappropriate and uncalled for. He offered no response and chose to ignore us. If a business representative can act in such a demeaning way toward families in a public setting over something as trivial as candy, it raises serious concerns about their professionalism and how they might treat their clients. I would strongly advise against engaging with a company that displays such disrespectful and humiliating behavior towards women and children.

I have known Tom Nantais for almost 8 years and he as an attorney has never been unprofessional or rude.
