I REGRET ever hiring Yang Law Office. I've spend almost $100k on a very simple divorce yet I walked away with nothing but a restraining order. It's been a month since I complained and shared proofs of legal malpractice and excessive billing with Elizabeth Yang and Phil Chen, the replies I got was 'we will need time to review everything'. The competence of attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants in this office is extremely questionable. Not only the attorney did not understand basic family code and failed to present arguments in my interest, but also the billing was absolutely excessive and ridiculous. I was billed on 'checking filing status', 'coordinated with mail room', 'rescheduled call with OP' etc etc, I was even billed on correcting mistakes that they made in the first place. Not to mention the travel time to and from court - 10 hours, while opposing counsel only bills 6! You might as well rob someone, why bother sending them invoices. The shift of narratives after losing a DVRO trial is disgusting. First the attorney expressed high confidence in my case, after losing, she blame on me as if to rationalize the result. This office does not care about clients' interest and the only attention was on billables. My evidence was mishandled and submitted late then rejected by court. The arguments presented in court were completely off topic. The poor representation did nothing but picking money out of my pocket. And the relationship between this office and opposing counsel definitely made my case even worse. I'd rather represent myself than hiring anyone from this office that made things much more complicated than it should be. I have no choice but to purse a state bar complaint and legal malpractice claim.
