Not only did Scott Kauffman take almost two years to come to me with a settlement, but he also offered me only $3,500 for months of being out of work, and continued pain and suffering to this day. If Scott Kaufman didn't believe in my case or want to fight for me Scott should have stated so immediately and declined to represent me. In addition, Scott Kauffman blatantly lied to me. He told me verbally and in writing, the 3rd party who handled medical reimbursements for my insurance company would more than likely "never reach out for payment" if I decided to have Scott include the medical payment in my own payout ($2,500), I would be able to keep it. Because Scott and his team were only offering me $3,500 and declined to go back to Farmers and demand a more realistic settlement I opted to keep the medical portion of the payout for myself and agreed to the settling of the case as time was not on my side; after Scott's delay in pursuing my case. After all was said and done, one month later the medical 3rd party sent me an invoice. I called to discuss and spoke with the rep who spoke with Scott Kaufman directly, she told me she was extremely forthcoming with him and advised they would immediately reach out to me for the medical payment. She also said as they were negotiating my responsibility for a final payment Scott never got back in contact with her. She stated she called and left repeated messages which went unanswered. In addition, she advised him if I declined or was unable to pay, any claims for myself or my children would go unpaid until this debt was settled. Scott Kaufman lied to me in order to get me to settle, he delayed my case which made it impossible to start over as the statute of limitations is up in 8 days. Scott Kaufman put my case on the back burner and then proceeded to agree to an unfair and undeserved settlement. I was hit by Farmer's insured at a speed of over 80 mph on the freeway, I am a single mom and was out of work for months due to injuries. To this day, I cannot sit or stand for long periods of time without persistent pain. This not only makes it difficult to provide for my kids but also makes it difficult for me to do things with them over an extended amount of time without dealing with pain and frustration. I am highly disappointed in Scott. I've never been involved in a lawsuit and now understand why attorneys have such a bad rap. Scott did not advocate for me, he was not communicative and he was the absolute worst attorney I could have selected. Do NOT use this attorney if you want someone to fight for what YOU DESERVE!
