Declined My Retaliation Case After Months of Delay -- While the Clock Ran Out. Barrera & Associates had my case details as early as March. It involved whistleblower retaliation, wrongful termination, and Medi-Cal fraud at a psychiatric facility. I provided them with documentation, emails, HR records--everything they asked for. Their paralegal even followed up to confirm my interest and requested additional materials. I complied every time. Then, after weeks of silence, they finally declined to represent me in June. Not because the case lacked merit--but because of "workload." By then, months had passed and my statutory deadlines were dangerously close. Let's be honest: this isn't about bandwidth. It's about fear. No one wants to touch a case that exposes institutional fraud tied to state funds. So instead of being transparent from the jump, they slow-walked it and left me hanging.
