Law Office of Katherine Winn

We previously had another attorney who didn't seem to want to fight for us. Ms. Winn was then retained and has done her best to help our situation. We found her experienced and knowledgeable and although the outcome didn't come in our favor, she did everything she could to help us. She has always been available for guidance and advice and has been very reasonable with her charges. We continue to work with her and appreciate her guidance. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Winn has a very high moral and civic standard and works to obtain settlement out of court. Our neighbors banded together to try to make us do unreasonable things with our property and when we instead did that which was reasonable, they hired a lawyer who personally joined in the bullying and harassment over a ten year timespan, even after the natural death of one of his clients. Ms. Winn successfully reasoned with him and the harassment stopped.

I had a very bad experience with Kathy Winn. She quoted me one price for a service, I paid thinking I was paying for the price we agreed upon only to realize after the fact that she charged me a lot more than the original price we had discussed. At no point did she indicate or communicate that her services were going to increase, and I was never given a fee agreement or breakdown of the additional charges. I have since reported her unethical practices to the State Bar. I too had originally thought she was a good attorney and wanted her to represent my case, however after dealing with this situation I wouldn't recommend BUYER BEWARE! I gave one star because I had to select a rating to move forward to post this review. RESPONSE AFTER SEE KATHERINE WINNS REPLY: I absolutely have contacted the SDCBA. Furthermore, Winn, you don't go around adding fees and services without discussing them with the other party, THAT"S UNETHICAL. You were given a document for REVIEW, which I created. You made a few changes to the wording. IF there was a reason to charge me $950, then I would expect that any decent attorney would have stated there would be additional charges and explained what they were. YOU however Winn, charged my credit card without any fee agreement agreement or explanation of charges / additional fees, THEREFORE rendering yourself and your practice UNETHICAL. I will see you in fee arbitration and very possibly a small claims civil suit.
