So I worked with Josh and Brad on a settlement case, and while I'm decently satisfied with the final payout, I have mixed feelings about how the case was handled overall. When the settlement was initially offered, I was sent paperwork to sign before key details (like the medical lien amount) were even confirmed, and I had to be the one pushing back and asking questions that I felt should've come from the attorney's side. I didn't feel that Josh had my best interest in mind after he did that, which definitely tainted my trust in him. I often had to advocate for myself, sending in hardship letters and documents that ultimately helped increase my settlement payout, but these steps weren't suggested by the firm. There were also issues with communication and professionalism in the office. When it came time to send over the final settlement paperwork, the front desk staff sent the wrong email and then responded rudely when I called to clarify. And when I came to pick up my check, I simply said I was there to pick it up, and they immediately handed it over without verifying my ID or confirming who I was..That lack of basic security and professionalism was concerning. When Brad eventually took over my case, things improved. He had more experience and was able to negotiate better with the opposing company, but even then, some of his comments came across as insensitive or dismissive of what I was going through. As a person of color, I also couldn't help but notice a lack of diversity in the office and some judgmental behavior when I came in, which didn't leave a great final impression. In the end, I did receive a decent settlement, much better than where things started and where Josh would've had me sign, but I can't say it felt like the firm truly fought for me unless I was pushing for it myself. I appreciate their legal skill and the final outcome, but I hope they take this feedback seriously to improve communication, empathy, and professionalism for future clients.
