I cannot praise enough the compassion and efficiency I encountered immediately upon my first contact with Michael Simmrin. We reached out to him for help getting a family member discharged from a 5150/5250 hold situation. Under the 5150 hold, our relative was placed in a psychiatric facility that mostly houses homeless individuals and drug addicts, even former inmates, and is in the habit of extending their holds while securing more permanent solutions for them. They were going to extend the involuntary hold placed on our relative while not having even begun treatment. Needless to say, that environment was not at all appropriate for our relative. I reached out to Michael and within 24 hours, our relative was discharged to seek outpatient care. Michael and his associate Karen provided timely explanations of the process and expert advice on how to proceed, and were available at all time.
