I feel so blessed to have followed my gut. I was super nervous when I was getting summoned from Chase Bank after my debt consolidation failed me. I was actually called to work with David, after reading the Google reviews. The process was super effortless and easily obtainable for those that feel overwhelmed. They had me organize my papers in a dropbox so that I could share all of the correspondence. Everything went so smoothly. I am almost in shock that it's done and that my Debt is discharged!!!! I can finally start a new again.

When facing something as complex and serious as bankruptcy, you need an attorney who listens, informs, and advocates for you--David Chung is exactly that. He took the time to understand my goals, clearly explained what was feasible, and guided me through every step with honesty, clarity, and cost-efficiency. Unlike other attorneys I consulted--who seemed more focused on fast filings and fees--David addressed the complexities of my case thoroughly and thoughtfully. While his schedule is understandably busy due to high demand, his team is responsive and helpful for general questions. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, client-focused attorney, David is the one to call.

I was in an incredibly bad spot, Mr. Chung gave me all the help I could hope for, and zero pressure to pay immediately. (I was broke) I did everything over time, and it worked out very well. My case took a little longer than I had hoped, but the fault was entirely mine. It was complicated. I saved over a $1000 using Maclean Chung Law Firm compared to other attorneys I was considering. This is a great firm, and I know without asking I could return for minor questions about my case even after discharge. I highly recommend this Law Firm, even from the Inland Empire where I live, we got it done.

Client

I had a very disappointing and emotionally draining experience with this firm. I completely regret ever contacting them. I am 1,000 times worse off than I was prior to this experience. I was considering bankruptcy but was concerned we might not qualify due to household income. I did my own research, used multiple Means Test calculators, and reached out to this firm seeking professional guidance and clarity. During my initial consultation, I explicitly asked about the Means Test and whether we would qualify for Chapter 7. I made it very clear what our income was from the beginning. We retained the firm and submitted all requested documents. No concerns or red flags were raised. We even had a pre-filing meeting with the attorney and again, no mention of any issue related to income or eligibility. As we continued checking in and providing updates, I was told multiple times we were "on track to file" and that the final steps were in motion. I even flagged a concern that our income had increased slightly in May and asked whether that could impact eligibility if the case didn't file in time. I was reassured repeatedly that we were still fine. I received multiple written assurances including one from Marly, who said: "We can definitely resolve this." "WE WILL DEFINITELY BE ABLE TO FILE YOUR CASE." Then, last week, I was told we do not qualify for Chapter 7. After three months of preparation, emotional investment, and reassurance, this news was a total shock. When I asked how this happened, I was told the attorney had mistakenly recorded my husband's monthly income as if it were a three-month total. This is a major error and I still don't understand how it wasn't caught earlier, especially since all of the correct pay stubs had been submitted and reviewed. This experience has been a devastating waste of 3 months. We made financial decisions based on the belief that Chapter 7 was moving forward. Now we're scrambling to recover and start over. I've since seen another review describing a very similar experience. I truly wish I had gone with a more honest firm that would have given me realistic expectations--not just said whatever was needed to move the process forward. To be clear, I'm not upset that we don't qualify for Chapter 7. I understand there are rules, thresholds, and criteria. What I'm upset about is that I was transparent about our income from the beginning, and for three months, no one raised a single concern. Instead, I was explicitly told we would qualify and that the case would definitely be filed. Bankruptcy is a major financial and life decision. Thinking you're headed toward relief for three months, only to be told at the last minute that it's not happening, feels like getting punched in the gut. The emotional toll is huge. The staff at this firm need to fully understand the impact of false reassurance and definitive statements. When people are coming to you at their lowest point, it's not just irresponsible, it's unprofessional and unacceptable to speak with such certainty when it's not warranted. I believe this firm tells clients what they want to hear to move the process forward. It would have been fine to say, "There's no guarantee," or "We can't say for sure yet." But instead, we were strung along and given false hope. Now we're left worse off than when we started. Worst outcome imaginable. It's one thing not to qualify, that happens, but to be explicitly told the case will be filed then being told you don't quality is just absolutely ridiculous.
