I hired Mr Thomas back in September of 2023 to handle a workers comp claim and a civil suit against an auto manufacturer. The day we hired him he was enthusiastic and we honestly believed that he was going to help us. I filled out the paperwork for workers comp and gave him all the paperwork I had on my accident that day. After that day, he was almost impossible to get in touch with for updates. Every time I called the office, the lady that answered never had any information at all on either case. She always would say that she would call Matt and call us back, but she never called back. After 2 months, they finally sent in the worker's comp paperwork I filled out in September. That was only because I had gotten so frustrated from him not returning my calls, that I finally emailed him and told him that if he no longer wanted to work our cases to let is know so we could find another lawyer. Another 2 months go by with barely any communication on their part and I get a letter saying that he is romoving himself from my civil suit but is still willing to work the worker's comp case if we want him to. That was after no communication again and me once again asking him if he still wants to work our case. We decided to keep him on the workers comp case since he already sent in the initial paper at that point and said he would work the case. A couple weeks ago I received a letter from Arkansas Workers Compensation saying I had 20 days to respond in writing to appeal my case and that they were dismissing because Mr. Thomas did not respond to the request they had made a month prior. I did not receive their letter until after 15 days had gone by, which left me with less than 5 days to respond. They emailed him the same letter the day they mailed it to me, so he had already let 15 days go by without talking to me or talking to them. He had more time to respond than I did but didn't do or say anything. By the time I got the letter I only had 4 and half days to respond in writing. I don't know why he was the way he was with me and my cases. If he didn't want them, then he should've never taken them. I fired him after getting that letter from ADWS I asked him 3 times between when ADWS requested information from him around the first of December and when that letter was sent on January 10th and they told me they hadn't received anything or heard anything about my workers comp case. When I finally got in touch with him the day I received the letter, he said he had a family member die I think January 12th and after he had been out sick. Like I told him, I am truly sorry for his loss and illness but the workers comp office requested the information over a month prior and sent out the dismissal letter before all of those events occurred. He wasted 5 months of our lives and we have no idea why. He didn't do any work on the civil suit. All he did with my workers comp was send them the paperwork I filled out in his office in September. He failed us. I will never hire him again and strongly do not recommend him for anything.
