But, if you want someone who understands the complexities of human behavior, the law, and how to best represent his clients, Joel is the one. Do not waste time or money anywhere else. Joel's clients always achieve the best possible outcomes. Always. I recommend him unconditionally. But when you see him, be honest, don't expect him to coddle you and make you feel warm and gooey about yourself, and then just trust him to handle things. That's it.

Overall, not a very good experience at all. This attorney will talk up a good game at the initial consultation, then will subsequently reveal that is not even on your side, which is the very least one ought to expect from a defense attorney. Don't expect him to actually remember anything about your case, because he never takes notes and seems to have terrible comprehension skills. I would describe him as incompetent, but it actually seemed worse than incompetence: he didn't believe me and he was deferring to the prosecutor's (his opponent) side. Though there clearly was some incompetence at play. Mr. Sogol told me that if I got into a pre-trial diversion program that my record would be expunged after completing it. However, I looked it up and the alleged offense for which I was arrested CANNOT be expunged under Alabama law, though I plan to litigate that issue when the time is right. If you want an attorney who will make a serious effort to learn about the intricacies of your case, I highly advise you to look elsewhere.
