Robert Dunlap and Associates, PLLC

Unfortunately we had to fire Mr. Dunlap. We believe he was taking meetings regarding our case without telling me about it. Here's why: Deputy Adkins of summers county sheriff told me via text message he gad a conversation with Mr. Dunlap on around 3/12/25. We were curious why Mr. Dunlap never made a point to tell us about this conversation on 3/12/25 so I asked him and he claims Deputy Adkins is lying that he did not have a conversation regarding us. It's slightly alarming to hear that your lawyer (whom we have paid thousands of dollars) was having meetings behind my back. When I finally had a chance to ask Mr. Dunlap on the phone about this conversation he says it never happened. Strangely, Mr. Dunlap emailed me the very next day on 3/13/25 saying that he could no longer represent us with a suit against the sheriff's department. So either that phone call did exist and Dunlap is lying or that's one hell of a coincidence. We think he's not to be trusted. He also charged us thousands of dollars for only communication via email. We literally got nothing but emails out of this guy for thousands. Save your hard earned money. We think he's playing the small town game while taking our money. He also recommended a new lawyer (who has terrible reviews) that just so happens random people were messaging me to call.

First spoke to Mr Dunlap back in April, I explained what I needed done and ask for a total. Mr Dunlap said I'll get you a total and also stated that the price would be fair. The lawfirm then does some title searches for 2 mobile homes on the property. I paid for that. And thought we was moving forward with the property sale. After weeks of not hearing from Mr Dunlap I emailed the lawfirm asking where we stood on my case. I get a phone from Mr Dunlap and he's very rude to me over the phone. At this time he tells me that I haven't hired to do anything for me after several months of working my case and over 30 emails back a forth with the lawfirm. He stated I hadn't paid him to do the deeds. I told him I was waiting on a total from him as I can't what I don't know I owe. He tells me it's my fault for not calling the office and asking what the total was. Then he pulls the conflict of interest card on me. I signed a waiver saying that I didn't have a problem with the 2nd party being a continued client of Mr Dunlap. The following Monday I spoke with Lori over the phone and had my card in my hand to pay for 3 deeds to transfer into my name. Lori then tells me that the 2nd party had brought in a map, showing there should've been 5 deeds instead of 3. She then wouldn't take payment for the three deeds they had already prepared. Told me she was going to check on that and also get me an estimate on the total cost and she'd get back with me either Friday or Monday and as usual she did not. After 2 weeks no phone call from the lawfirm . I sent an email asking why I hadn't heard anything back again. Shortly thereafter I received a email from Mr Dunlap himself telling me that after months of working my case and over 50 emails that I hadn't paid him yet ,and discontinued representing me in my case. Well Mr Dunlap, once again I can't pay what I don't know I owe. This lawfirm is a joke wasted 3 months of my life for nothing. Mr Dunlap is very rude and has an ego that's bigger than the state of WV. Very unprofessional, does not communicate with his staff concerning others cases. And in his last attempt to help me he sends the names of 3 different lawfirms, of course all 3 with lower ratings than his lawfirm. Just another show of his ego. I wouldn't recommend this lawfirm for any legal representation. I give them negative stars. In response to Dunlaps last swing. Your incorrect again. First off I haven't disrespected anyone in your office. 2nd I can prove I paid you money I've got receipts on my phone. 3rd your right about one thing my post is just a little incomplete I should've included the receipts and all the emails to prove what you say is lies. And last this is the good one, I've already hired another lawfirm. And when I explained to them how you treated me. They replied ( we hear that alot about that lawfirm). So your fired!!!!!!! Lol, looks like all his friends in beckley has gotten on here to lie for him about their experience do not trust all the positive feedback its plane to see its his friends trying to help him regain his confidence in himself. Sad swing for a little lawyer. Robert Dunlap shouldn't have a lawyers degree. Incompetent!!!! Unprofessional!! And you and your lawfirm are a joke. Should be ran out of WV.

Can't even get through to speak to someone because the AI robot secretary keeps turning me away.

Highly recommend Robert Dunlap! He worked my case beautifully & helped change my life forever and for the better! My family & I greatly appreciate him & have the upmost respect for him and his team. They were all so sweet & actually cared for me & what we had going on. It wasn't about money by any means! We thank you & I do especially.. from the bottom of my heart
