Client
I went with The Wilson Law Firm for a reckless driving ticket (88 in a 55 on I-395 at 4:00 a.m. heading to DCA). I chose them because I felt it was a straightforward case that should be reduced, and to their credit, Mr. Bach did manage to get it reduced to improper driving. That said, I left very disappointed with the professionalism of this firm as a whole. The issues started early. I didn't hear from Mr. Bach until one month prior to my court date, and when we finally had our phone appointment, he showed up 20 minutes late without notice. When I called the office, they said they knew he was running behind but hadn't thought to inform his clients. For a professional law firm, a simple courtesy call goes a long way. Then, the day before court, I received their standard "pre-court" email stressing the importance of clients being at court early--how unprofessional it is to be late, and how we must be in place at least 30 minutes beforehand. I showed up an hour early, ready to go, but Mr. Bach didn't arrive until almost 15 minutes after the scheduled time--leaving me as the only client waiting in the hallway while everyone else and their lawyers were already inside the courtroom. I called the firm for updates, and not only did I get vague reassurances, but I could also hear irritation in their tone, as if I was a burden for expecting punctuality. In the end, while the result of my case was acceptable, I strongly feel the outcome had more to do with the officer's willingness to reduce charges (as I overheard him agreeing to reduce with other attorneys) than with the firm's advocacy. What stuck with me was the "do as I say, not as I do" approach: lecturing clients about professionalism and punctuality while failing to meet those same standards themselves. If you're looking for results only, they may get the job done. But if you also value communication, professionalism, and respect for your time, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
