Hiring Jeff Wasikowski was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. After my father passed away, I entrusted Jeff Wasikowski with handling his estate, believing he was a professional well-versed in probate, estate, and elder law. I provided him with crucial documents--including my father's will, death certificate, vehicle titles, and other essential paperwork--so he could promptly name me as executrix of the estate and ensure everything was handled properly. I never signed anything, and he didn't take inventory of what I provided. From the very start, this entire process was a disaster.
For two months, Jeff Wasikowski strung me along. He claimed I'd been named executrix but never provided any supporting documentation. He dodged my calls, evaded my emails, and ignored my repeated requests for updates. Finally, after losing patience, I sent him an email giving him 24 hours to respond. When he ignored me again, I personally went to his office to retrieve my documents. Instead of returning everything, he gave me only a copy of my father's will--no death certificate, no vehicle titles, nothing else. It's now apparent that he lost several important documents and never even took inventory of what I'd provided him.
After hiring a new lawyer, I learned that Jeff Wasikowski had done absolutely nothing to move the probate process forward. I had not been named executrix as he claimed, and his inaction caused a delay of at least two months. This setback has cost my family financially and emotionally--we've been unable to cancel accounts, list my father's house for sale, or move forward with settling the estate. Instead of helping us during this already devastating time, Jeff Wasikowski added unnecessary stress, financial strain, and chaos to an already overwhelming situation.
Even now, he continues to ignore both me and my new lawyer, who sent a formal demand for the return of the remaining essential paperwork he has of my father's. This level of negligence and unprofessionalism is unacceptable for someone who claims to specialize in estate planning and probate administration.
If you're considering hiring Jeff Wasikowski, don't. He is a professional in name only. Trusting him was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made, and I would not recommend his services to anyone.
