Do not use this firm. If I could give Gonzalez Law Group 0 stars, I absolutely would. We have had a horrendous experience with this joke of a firm since day 1. We had a unique situation dealing with a family member adoption. Justin was our first lawyer, he and his paralegal Shareny were absolutely horrible with constant mistakes. They gave us incorrect information time and time again, told us that the birth father would need to be present when that was not a possibility, we told them that, and that's also NOT true. I called the attorney general myself and confirmed that what they told me was incorrect. I took care of so many things myself because this joke of a firm had no idea what they were doing. Almost every legal form they supplied us with had spelling errors in our names and the birth mothers name (though they had copies of our ID's??), I could go on and on about the simple mistakes they continually made. I called them out on their errors and rather than apologizing and fixing their errors, they switched which lawyer we were assigned to. We were switched to Zakiya and we had a much better experience with her and her paralegal. It still was not perfect, issues with having things spelled correctly still persisted. Zakiya was late on our court date, it sounded out of her control but it was still disappointing after all of the unprofessional behavior we have dealt with from Justin and this law firm as a whole. I stopped asking them to fix their errors and just fixed them myself before sending over the signed copies of any documents that had errors. Our final billing had errors, charging us for services that were never completed. The billing department quickly adjusted, but getting our retainer back was also a hassle. They usually bill on the 5th of every month, on the 10th we still hadn't received anything so I called to check in. They finally got us our bill on the 13th and told me that once payment was submitted, it would be ~24 hours and our reimbursement would be ready and they would call. I submitted payment while I was still on the phone with her and she confirmed she received the payment. I waited a full week before calling to check in again. Our check still wasn't ready, but they said they could get it to me the next day. I was able to finally pick it up on the 21st. I am SO happy to be done and never have to deal with this horrible firm ever again. I would recommend Zakiya herself, but would NEVER recommend this firm, not even for my worst enemy. Save your money, time, and sanity and go with literally anyone else.
