Joe is a licensed attorney, serving clients in Tennessee and Virginia. In January 2018, Mr. McMurray left the District Attorney General's Office and accepted a position as an associate attorney with Mr. R. Wayne Culbertson's office. Since that time Mr. McMurray has found great success in many areas of law including criminal defense, personal injury, social security disability, probate/estate issues as well as family law. Given his education and experience, Mr. McMurray prides himself as a trial attorney and devotes himself to most areas of litigation in the firm.
In addition to his work at the firm, he was also an adjunct professor at King University.

I was introduced to Joe McMurray when I was desperately trying to flee my marriage of severe DV. When we went to court he had at his fingertips records that showed bleeding behind my eyes, broke arm, broke back, and many medical records that showed what a woman goes through when there is repeated infidelity in a marriage.
He had records that showed where my signature had been forged on stolen credit cards and witnesses that had seen evidence of the above. Joe had pictures that showed bruises, and records from a emergency room doctor that recorded that abuse was present in my home. Plus so much more that's too embarrassing to mention.
Joe McMurray did not present any of my evidence to the judge. Later a explanation came out of his law office that said: "if I show Judge ????? this, he will be absolutely furious."
Due to complete exhaustion I thought Joe McMurray's office meant: the judge would be mad at me. An abused women always thinks it's her fault so that explanation made sense to me at the time.
I was stabbed in the back by my own attorney and my livelihood was left in my abusers hands for an additional seven years. I was awarded pennies on the dollar on money that was stoled from me.
A sixth grader with good reading skills could have easily won my case. Please be aware who you hire when you are fighting for your safety and freedom from abuse. His behavior almost cost me my life.
