The Long family tradition of practicing law began in the 1930s with Jefferson Marion Long, and continued down the family tree to his son Jefferson (Bud) Marion Long, Jr. in 1950. Bud was the Georgetown and Horry County Solicitor for 17 years before an 8-year term as a South Carolina State Senator, and over 6 years as a Municipal Judge for Myrtle Beach. Following the footsteps of the two reputable generations before him, Russell B. Long, son of Bud and managing attorney of Russell B. Long, P.A., has been practicing law throughout South Carolina courtrooms since 1992. The Longs represent 3 generations of exceptional and passionate lawyers that have shared the love of practicing law throughout Horry County for over 80 years.
